A baby tracker app for two parents, and everyone who helps

A baby is rarely cared for by one person alone. With Heia, your partner, grandparents or childminder log on their own phones, and everyone sees the same thing.

Why use a baby tracker app for two parents

"Have you changed her yet?" "I thought you had…" Almost every family knows conversations like this. When two or more people care for a baby, the question of what happened last comes up quickly. A baby tracker app for two parents answers it, without anyone having to ask or be woken.

In Heia you form a shared household for this. Each person logs on their own phone, and everyone sees the same picture: the last feed, the last nappy, the last sleep, and who made the entry.

How do I share a baby tracker with my partner?

You invite your partner with a short invite code, and from then on your entries sync between both phones. Step by step:

  1. Whoever already uses Heia creates a free account. It has no password: you sign in with a code that you receive by email.
  2. In Settings, under "Household & caregivers", you create an invite code. It has eight characters, is valid for seven days and works exactly once.
  3. The other person installs Heia, also creates an account and enters the code.
  4. From then on, entries appear for both of you, automatically.

For each additional person you create a new code. Up to five people fit into one household. Two of you track together for free; from the third person you need Heia Plus, and one Plus then covers the whole household. A parent can also remove people again. Nothing is deleted when that happens: the shared entries stay in the household, and the person who was removed simply no longer sees them.

Without an account, Heia works fully on one phone. You only need the account if you want to track together or take your data to a new device.

Partner, grandparents, childminder

A household in Heia is not limited to two parents. Anyone who regularly cares for the baby can join:

  • Partner: you take turns and both see what happened at night. Who did the last feed is simply there in the morning.
  • Grandparents: grandma or grandpa log the afternoon bottle themselves. You see it at home, without asking.
  • Childminder or babysitter: naps and meals land where the rest of the day is.

Each person can use Heia in their own language. Heia speaks eight languages: German, English, French, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian and Arabic. The entries stay the same. Heia is available for iPhone and Android, and you can mix the two.

Who did what last

On the home screen you can see at a glance when your baby last fed, had a nappy change or slept, and who logged it. It does not replace talking to each other, but it takes many small questions out of the day.

Handing over the sleep timer

A typical case: you put the baby down and start the sleep timer. Then your partner takes over, and you go to bed yourself. Two hours later the baby wakes up. Your partner ends the timer on their own phone, without waking you.

Heia remembers who started the sleep and shows it on the running timer. One person starts, another ends, and the entry stays a single sleep.

Does it work offline, and what does it cost?

Yes to both. Every entry is saved first on the phone where it is made. No signal in the nursery, in the grandparents' cellar or on a plane? The entries are still not lost. As soon as the phone is connected again, Heia syncs them with the household.

With an account, the shared data is also stored on servers in the EU. No data is sold.

Shared tracking for two costs nothing. If grandparents, a childminder or a babysitter join as a third person, you need Heia Plus. One Plus is enough for the whole household: if one person has Plus, it applies to everyone, with no charge per person. Also free are all 16 entry types, the first child, statistics covering 7 and 14 days, the growth chart and your first appointment preparation with its PDF. Heia Plus is an optional yearly or monthly subscription for statistics across a month and longer, patterns, the day and night plan, further appointment preparations, the CSV export, a second and third child, more people in the household, and Heia without ads. There is more about the app on the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Can two parents use the same baby tracker?

Yes. In Heia you both join one household, and each of you logs on your own phone. Two of you can do this for free. Up to five people can share a household; from the third person, one Heia Plus covers everyone.

Does everyone in the household need an account?

Yes. Each person who wants to track creates their own free account. It has no password; you sign in with a code sent by email.

What happens if someone leaves the household?

The shared entries stay for the others. The person who leaves no longer sees them afterwards.

The invite code does not work. What now?

A code is valid for seven days and only once. If it has expired or has already been used, simply create a new one.

Can we track several children together?

Yes. One child is free, and with Heia Plus you can add up to three children. Everyone in the household sees the entries for all children.
